Dear Readers
The Sand Sleen Oasis is under reconstruction. A huge effort is being made by Jeanie Weston to create a “by the book” Taharian Oasis. The new Sand Sleen Oasis will feature amongst other things:
- A central lake at its lowest point
- Hundreds of massive date palms, the principle export good.
- No walls will surround the oasis
- An impressive kaspah will be the Pashas residence including his personal library
- Authentic residences for rent with their interior gardens
I just had some more ideas. I will ask Jeanie about that :
1. Taharian oasis-es where frequented often by caravans selling goods from Turia and Tor and returning with date bricks and salt to be sold in Tor and Kasra. That’s why an oasis in the book had quit big Inns with kaiila stables to accommodate the merchants, their riders and animals.
2. Oh yes, and I will need a little fortress/kasbah to store “certain goods“. But thats another story which you will read about on my blog: World of Gor in Second Life
3. Oasis-es had facilities for slave auctions. I remember Hassan the bandit was selling Zima the Traitress in one of those in the Oasis of the two scimitars.
4. Maybe we find a texture for the general ground, In the book the desert is described as rocky and hilly, not as sand dunes (with the exeption of the dune country of course).
The oasis still recruits role players for most Taharian roles:
- Warriors (male only) as guards
- Warriors (male only) as raiders
- Warriors (male) as personal guards of Sheraka
- Merchants of all kind (male and female)
- Merchants and riders organizing caravans (cross sim)
- Inn /Cafe keeper (male)
- Slaves (male and female)

Hi Sheraka, thank you very much for your kind words. I have already given you some comments about your article and I won’t repeat them here but I have a few more
First of all the role of Inn/Cafe keeper is filled – sorta. My slavegirl Kadi has that job. It might still be a good idea to have a male there but we need to talk to her since I’m not going to take her job and give it to someone else.
* We are also DESPERATELY seeking Warriors (male) as personal guards of Jeanie! She also needs another personal slave or two (female)
As i told you earlier I already had planned to build a stable (complete with some static kaiila) but I didn’t think of having it be part of the Inn, thats a good idea
A slave auction center is being constructed.. and i’m contemplating what bricks of pressed dates would look like…………
